The Wood Workshop at GDPS is a unique feature that facilitates mastering of basic principles and modern techniques of manufacturing, allowing students to attain a strong foundation in engineering from an early age. The wood workshop offers students hands-on technical skills in a safe environment, under the guidance of experienced faculty. Students acquire woodworking and carpentry skills and make wooden articles.
Art ignites creativity and enhances artistic skills to make something productive. Students acquire the skills, concepts, and knowledge necessary to express their ideas and experiences in a visual or tactile form.
Making objects in an artistic manner makes students feel confident and proud of their work. They learn to value and appreciate craftsmanship and reflect on their own work and the work of others.
Dance helps keep the students physically fit, active and it also enhances their creativity. Dance helps to express feelings in creative ways, achieve team spirit and discipline.
The music classes at GDPS provide opportunities to all students to explore their interests in music and instruments like keyboard, guitar and drums. Students play, perform and enjoy music, and develop the skills to appreciate a wide variety of musical forms.
Students learn to cook traditional and international cuisine. They enjoy learning this basic life skill which enables them to understand the requirements of a balanced meal to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Robotics education provides hands-on experience to the students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) concepts that prepare them for the 21st Century skills, especially in the field of science and technology. It enhances creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among students.
Artificial Intelligence focuses on developing intelligent machines that can learn and teach themselves. The students develop knowledge, skills, and values to understand AI and its implications for our society and to use AI to solve authentic problems, now and in the future.
Automotive technology courses impart knowledge on service and maintenance, mechanical design, collision science, alternative fuel systems, shipping logistics, and more. It aims to develop employability and vocational competencies of students.
Students learn the basics of cooking coupled with the scientific approach by trying to understand the food production chain, hospitality and food management. Students will be able to describe kitchen operations including culinary terminology, operational software, cooking methods, and basic food handling skills: such as food safety and food quality and to demonstrate proper kitchen management systems.
Multimedia plays an important role in today’s world. Students learn to create textures using relevant software used in multimedia and gain a good understanding of the principles of colour theory, photography, multi-pass rendering and lighting. They also learn the basic principles of animations, various features of compositing, 3D production pipeline and to create effective animations.
Geospatial technology is associated with a range of various technologies which include remote sensing, Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS), information technologies, and field sensors, that are intended to facilitate the process of capturing/storing/ processing/ displaying/ disseminating information tied to a location. This present course curriculum offers an opportunity for the students to understand the basics of geospatial technology for developing an interest in the principles, practical uses, and resources related to geospatial technologies.
Design Thinking is a systematic process of thinking creatively and critically, and to develop problem-solving skills. This is intended to introduce ideas, methodologies, principles, fundamentals, and skills that comprise a common knowledge base important to all design disciplines. These fundamentals will foster a multidisciplinary design experience among students and will prepare them to move to the next level.
Computer science classes helps the students to learn the design, development and coding of software which develops their ICT skills. It also develops their life skills like critical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. NCC started at GDPS on 1/12/2020. Since 25 aspiring kids have enrolled their vision towards NCC. At NCC GDPS we aim to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the children.
